A Special Concert Dedicated to Armenian-American Philanthropists

On Sunday, August 12, at the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall in Yerevan, a special Concert was held by the “New Chamber Ensemble” of the National Philharmonic Orchestra, dedicated to American-Armenian philanthropists. AMAA member and benefactor Lucy Janjigian was the guest of honor at this special Concert.

Mrs. Lucy Janjigian and AMAA Armenia Representative Harout Nercessian
In early 2000s one of the members of the Ensemble, Gor Hovhannisyan, studied at Arizona State University for his Masters in Performing Arts. For a certain time Lucy graciously covered his tuition and helped him to complete his education. As an appreciation, Gor organized this Special Concert to thank Lucy and all the Armenian-American philanthropists who have supported young artists.
On May 5, 2002 Gor Hovhannisyan graciously presented a Benefit Concert for the AMAA’s Armenia Summer Camp and Christmas Committee, chaired by Lucy Janjigian, to benefit the children in Armenia attending AMAA’s Summer Camps. That Concert was recorded live and the CDs are available for purchase at the AMAA Bookstore.
