AMAA Covid Help in US

On Thursday, April 16, 2020, the AMAA Headquarters supported local businesses by purchasing meals to donate to First Responders.

We’d like to thank the Paramus Police Department and EMS for being local essential workers through these challenging times and thank you to Nouri Café in Paterson, NJ and Empanada Mania in Bergenfield, NJ for making these delicious meals!

On Saturday, May 9, 2020, AMAA partnered with Talin Avakian, active member and leader of a weekly Zumba Ministry at the Armenian Evangelical Church of New York (AECNYC), and Anet’s Collection to host a fun virtual Zumba class. Partial proceeds from this event helped buy meals from struggling small restaurants for First Responders and Food Banks, support small businesses, while the rest contributed to alleviate the financial hardships caused by the outbreak, acquisition of medical supplies, access to health and social support services, and other unforeseen consequences the outbreak has caused.

On Tuesday, June 2, 2020, AMAA and the young business owners of Hawaiian Hot Chicken of Northridge, CA, collaborated to donate individual meals to the Northridge Hospital Foundation’s essential workers.

Hawaiian Hot Chicken matched AMAA’s donation and proceeded to contribute even more! With funds generated from AMAA’S MOTHER’S DAY VIRTUAL ZUMBA event and Hawaiian Hot Chicken, the Hospital’s dedicated workers were thanked and at the same time supporting a small Armenian business affected by COVID-19.

On Wednesday, June 17, 2020 AMAA collaborated with Miss Boston, Kristina Ayanian, to donate food for the Crossroads Family Shelter in Boston. Miss Ayanian shopped, packed her car and delivered the packages to assist families in need! Donations were made possible by proceeds from AMAA’S MOTHER’S DAY VIRTUAL ZUMBA event, which collected donations for AMAA’s COVID Response Fund to help alleviate hardships caused by the outbreak. Thank you to our supporters who participated in Zumba and donated for a great cause.

AMAA is on a long term mission to help our communities throughout the world. The needs are wide range and immense and our appeal is open ended. If you too would like to donate to AMAA’s COVID Response Fund please click on the link below.
