International Youth Day

As we celebrate INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY around the globe, the AMAA would like to thank our youth in Lebanon for their tireless volunteering efforts in apportioning food parcels and non-edible relief supplies, and distributing them to needy families at the Armenian Evangelical Christian Social Center in Trad, Bourdj Hamoud. Lena Danaoghlian, Administrator of the Armenian Evangelical Social Action Committee of the Union of the Armenian Evangelical Churches in the Near East, said that although Phase One of food and household distribution was a huge success, Phase Two faced much more difficulties, as volunteers worked in the midst of increasing COVID-19 cases, the fluctuation of the U.S. dollar against the Lebanese pound and the consequential battle of obtaining essential products from struggling companies. With safety measures taken, the youth were very careful during the assortments; wearing masks, gloves, hair nets, and maintaining social distance. Phase Two may have had more challenges, but the testimonials below show that no matter what, … God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:19

A 40 year-old diabetic woman who lives with her sick mother called the next day exclaiming that the food parcel was the answer to their prayer they made the previous night. It contained everything they had asked for.
An old lady stated that she wanted to buy tomato paste for her cooking. She went to the shop but returned back without purchasing it since it was very expensive. She applauded with joy when she saw the tomato paste packed for her.
A handicapped man, who used to be a famous actor who once performed on stage, called to thank the SAC with tears of gratitude.
An elderly mother had asked her daughter for processed cheese, but her daughter refused because the price had exponentially increased. When they received the parcel and found the processed cheese inside, the old lady was very much excited.
These are just some of the many testimonials the Armenian Evangelical Social Action Committee receives on a daily basis. With your donations, we are able to continue God’s work in helping our brothers and sisters in need, especially now after the disastrous explosion in Beirut. It is certainly a blessing to see how the Lord works in mysterious ways and how He uses us as His agents.
