
Request for Proposal – Catalog Librarian

Project Description
The Armenian Missionary Association of America, Inc. (AMAA) is seeking a qualified individual involving the cataloguing of various media types in the AMAA Library. Individual must have fluent reading and writing skills, in Armenian, and preferably has experience with computerized classification databases.
Primary Project Goals
- Examine delicate library materials including antique bibles, books, magazines, newspapers, and other documents to note author, title, publisher, shelf location, etc.
- Determine and create best classification system for AMAA’s library materials
- Research supplies needed to fulfill cataloging responsibilities and preserve delicate material
- Create a cataloging system to classify and categorize library materials
- Create manual for use of cataloging system
Preferred Knowledge & Abilities
- Ability to work independently and communicate regular progress reports
- Preferred knowledge of the principles and practices of library functions
- Experienced in Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Bilingual, proficient and able to read and write in Armenian
- Involves standing, kneeling, sitting, walking, lifting
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccine required
