The Promise of Peace, Joy and Hope of Christmas

Dear Friends:
The Christmas Season is once again upon us. One word we will be hearing a lot during this beautiful season of the year is PEACE.
We will hear it proclaimed in the Gospel, we will read it on our Christmas cards, we will hang ornaments that say it on our Christmas trees, and we will sing it over and over again in our favorite Christmas carols.
While we all want and pray for peace on earth, we all know just how difficult it is to achieve. For centuries, mankind has been fighting and has been at war over land, water, religion, food, power, oil and many other commodities. It seems that there’s no peace in sight.
Today, as we prepare for the coming of Christ, the world is full of conflict. Our world is once again shaken with turmoil by the recent tragic events in Syria. Lives have been tragically lost and many of our brothers and sisters have been forced to quickly leave their homes and flee to safer grounds with nothing but the clothes on their backs. As the crisis deepens in Lebanon, for many members of our AMAA Communities, lives and daily routines are being disrupted. The future remains uncertain.
The AMAA has again been called upon to carry forth the promise of peace, joy and hope to our people who are so desperately in need. We need your help. Your generous support of our annual Christmas Appeal will not only help our people the Near East, but will also support our Mission which includes education, churches, camps, medical clinics, sponsorship programs, infant formula distribution and day centers in 24 countries around the world.
Please continue to pray for the refugees that peace will one day prevail in Syria and for others who will need our help during the coming year. We truly appreciate your generosity in the past and for all you do throughout the year to help those in need.
May God’s blessings flow to you and your family during this Christmas Season and may you all have a New Year filled with peace and the love of Christ.
Քրիստոս ծնաւ եւ յայտնեցաւ. ձեզի, մեզի Մեծ Աւետիս!

(Christ is born and is revealed, good tidings to you and to us)
Sincerely,
