The Good News Proclaimed Throughout Armenia During Christmas Time

The Armenian Missionary Association of America (AMAA), in collaboration with the Evangelical Church of Armenia (ECA), held a series of Christmas Joy Programs for children and youth throughout Armenia.

From December 23 to January 15, some sixty Christmas Joy Programs were held in more than 30 towns and villages of Armenia, including the border villages, where more than 10,000 children and youth heard the Good News of the Savior’s birth and received Christmas gifts.

The AMAA/ECA Vardenis team visited 14 villages, 12 of which were near the border. In Sisian, the AMAA/ECA team transported children from 9 border villages to the city, where they watched a Christmas play about the joy, love and care that comes from Christ.

In all regions of Armenia, the Good News of Christmas was conveyed by the children and youth through unique performances where they proclaimed: This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. (1 John 4:9)

The highlight of the Christmas Joy Programs was a play held at AMAA’s Yerevan Center in the ECA Yerevan Church Hall, where over 2,200 children and youth heard the Good News of Christmas through a unique play held in seven sessions in two days. On January 11 and 12, the “Hayasa” theater troupe of AMAA and ECA presented the play “Nativity in the Forest” directed by scriptwriter Nune Abrahamyan.

At the play’s conclusion, when the Christmas carol was being played, one of the characters in the play lit a candle, followed by the whole forest in the play and then by the children in the audience who were watching the play. The dark hall immediately lit up with small lamps, symbolizing that each of us will become the bearer of Christmas light when we know Jesus and follow His commandments.

The children attending the programs took home with them the candles symbolizing the light of Jesus, as well as Christmas gift bags full of interesting items and games and announcing to each other: Christ is born and is revealed. Good tidings to you and to us. The same play was also repeated at the Evangelical Church of Armenia in Ijevan during their Christmas Joy Program.

The light that emanates from the Manger at Christmas Joy lit the minds and souls of the children of Armenia who in turn will grow up to illuminate the Homeland. AMAA donors ignite the spark, said Zaven Khanjian, AMAA Executive Director/CEO.

Սուրբ Ծննդեան Բարի Լուռը կը Հռչակուի Հայաստանի Տարածքին

Ամերիկայի Հայ Աւետարանչական Ընկերակցութիւնը (ԱՀԱԸ) Հայաստանեայց Աւետարանական Եկեղեցիի հետ գործակցաբար իրականացուց Սուրբ Ծննդեան յատուկ ծրագիրներ երեխաներու եւ պատանիներու համար։ Դեկտեմբեր 23-էն մինչեւ Յունուարի 15-ը Հայաստանի աւելի քան 30 քաղաքներու եւ գիւղերու մէջ, ներառեալ սահմանամերձ գիւղերը, իրականացուեցան շուրջ 60 նման ծրագիրներ, ուր աւելի քան 10,000 երեխաներ եւ պատանիներ լսեցին Փրկչին Ծննդեան աւետիսը եւ ստացան Սուրբ Ծննդեան նուէրներ։

Վարդենիսի ԱՀԱԸ-ի եւ տեղւոյն Եկեղեցիի թիմը այցելեց 14 գիւղ, որոնցմէ 12-ը սահմանամերձ գիւղեր էին։ Սիսիանի ԱՀԱԸ-ի եւ տեղւոյն Եկեղեցիի թիմը սահմանամերձ 9 գիւղերէն քաղաք տեղափոխեց երեխաներ, ուր անոնք վայելեցին Սուրբ Ծննդեան ներկայացում մը՝ Քրիստոսէն  բխող ուրախութեան, սիրոյ եւ հոգատարութեան մասին։

Հայաստանի բոլոր մարզերուն մէջ երեխաներն ու պատանիները իւրայատուկ ներկայացումներով փոխանցեցին Սուրբ Ծննդեան աւետիսը, ուր անոնք յայտարարարեցին ըսելով, Աստուծոյ սէրը սա’պէս բացայայտուեցաւ  մեզի հանդէպ։ Աստուած աշխարհ ղրկեց իր միածին Որդին, որպէս զի ապրինք անոր միջոցով։ (Ա. Յովհաննու 4. 9)

Սուրբ Ծննդեան միջոցառումներու ամենէն ցայտունը ԱՀԱԸ-ի Երեւանի Կեդրոնին մէջ տեղւոյն Եկեղեցիի սրահին մէջ ներկայացուած բեմադրութիւնն էր։ Յունուարի 11-12 օրերուն աւելի քան 2,200 երեխաներ եւ պատանիներ լսեցին Սուրբ Ծննդեան Բարի Լուրը երկու օրուայ ընթացքին, ուր ԱՀԱԸ-ի Հայասա թատերախումբը Նունե Աբրահամյանի գլխաւորութեամբ բեմադրեց «Ծնունդն անտառում» ներկայացումը եօթը անգամներ տարբեր խումբերու համար։

Ներկայացումներու աւարտին, երբ կը հնչէր Սուրբ Ծննդեալ երգը, դերակատարներէն մէկը մոմ մը վառեց եւ փոխանցեց ներկայացման ամբողջ անտառի բնակիչներուն եւ անոնք ալ իրենց կարգին փոխանցեցին հանդիսատես երեխաներուն։ Մութ սրահը անմիջապէս լուսաւորուեցաւ փոքրիկ լապտերներով՝ խորհրդանշելով, որ մեզմէ իւրաքանչիւրը կը դառնայ Սուրբ Ծննդեան լոյսը կրողը, երբ կը ճանչնանք Յիսուսը եւ կը հետեւինք Անոր պատուիրաններուն։

Սուրբ Ծննդեան բոլոր միջոցառումներուն ներկայ գտնուող երեխաները իրենց հետ տարին Յիսուսի լոյսը խորհրդանշող լապտերները, ինչպէս նաեւ ամանօրեայ ծրարներ, լի հետաքրքիր նուէրներով, միմիանց աւետելով Քրիստոս ծնաւ եւ յայտնեցաւ, Ձեզի, մեզի Մեծ Աւետիս։

Սուրբ Ծննդեան Ուրախութեան Մսուրէն բխող լոյսը լուսաւորեց Հայ մանուկներու միտքն ու հոգիները, որոնք իրենց հերթին պիտի մեծնան՝ լուսաւորելու Հայրենիքը ըսաւ Զաւէն Խանճեան, Ընկերակցութեան Գործադիր Տնօրէնը։ ԱՀԱԸ-ի նուիրատուները վառեցին այդ կայծը։

Շնորհակալութիւն բոլոր նուիրատուներուն, որոնք համագործակցեցան մեզի հետ իրենց նուէրներով, եւ Սուրբ Ծննդեան այս ուրախ ծրագիրներու միջոցով ժպիտներ եւ զուարճալի տօներ պարգեւեցին Հայաստանի եւ Արցախի հազարաւոր կարիքաւոր երեխաներու։
